Sister Annette LangenderferSister Annette Langenderfer, 91, of the Sisters of St. Francis of Tiffin, Ohio, died at 1:05 a.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at St. Francis Home. Sister Joan of Arc served as a catechist at Transfiguration Parish in Maspeth, NY, where in her own words, it was her most memorable assignment, being a part of the parish and allowing me to be involved in all aspects of parish life. Sister is a graduate of Duquesne University, with a Bachelors and Masters degree in Education. Sister Joan of Arc retired to the Pittsburgh motherhouse in 1990, where she remained active as the congregational postal clerk and receptionist until her 95th birthday. A member of St. Marys Immaculate Conception Parish in Niles, she graduated from the parish elementary school in 1960. There, her nursing services continued, as she would often spend her days crocheting baby caps for the newborns at St. Agnes Hospital. Mary had eight brothers and three sisters, all of whom preceded her in death. Having lived at St. Agnes Convent beginning in 2000, Sister Bertha joined the community of sisters residing at Nazareth Court and Center in November 2010.
